Shameless self-promotion
If a man can’t use his own blog to promote himself, then really, what good is it in the first place? I have written a piece for a travel writing competition, and while I’m not actually sure that it strictly counts as travel writing (being the story of something that happened to me which could have happened anywhere but happened to happen abroad. Happened.), those in charge of such things have seen fit to put it up on their website.
It can be found here, and while I by no means endorse it’s quality or inability to avoid a convenient cliche, I would mightily appreciate a ‘digg’ or two, as there is a modest cash prize involved. I’m still uncertain as to what ‘digging’ is, but I appeal to the possibility, dear reader, that with your computer-y guile and know-how, you do.
If you are in the travel stories mood I also urge you to have a read of this one, written by a friend of mine. It is an infinitely superior and more assured attempt than my own.

Alas, I have no more comprehension of the Digg thing than you, but I enjoyed the story. Good luck in the competition!
Cheers!
